It will allow access to the new railway complex in Valladolid.
ADIF has awarded Amurrio Ferrocarril y Equipos S.A. the supply and transport of track equipment for the construction of the East Freight Bypass of the Valladolid Arterial Railway Network.
The contract includes a total of 54 pieces of equipment of 15 different models (turnouts and derailers) for a value of 5,931,916.03 €, and the expected completion period is 12 months. Each of the devices will be manufactured and pre-assembled at the Amurrio facilities for reception and approval before being sent to their final location.
The East Bypass is 17.5 km long and is designed so that trains can run at a speed of 160 km/h. As structural landmarks, it has a 1,130.5 m viaduct (Viaducto de los Tramposos) and a 2,192 m tunnel. This will give double-track continuity to the Madrid-Hendaye line and will be used for freight traffic.
This bypass will also provide access to the new Valladolid railway complex, where all the railway activities currently carried out in other Valladolid centers will be located, with the exception of those linked to the passenger station, the new Renfe workshop, the logistics services terminal (replacing the La Esperanza and Argales facilities) and Redalsa.
